Simba International
This is Erin with Simba International, we are a company that deals with recyclable materials such as plastic, metal, cardboard etc. Simba International is working with Resurf to help achieve their goal of recycling old broken down surfboards. They have discovered various homes for the recycled material which includes using portions of the pulvarized boards to not only make new surfboards but also for use as additives to products such as asphalt. Luckily Steve Cox found us through a long process (on his part) of searching for someone to pulverize the old boards. It works out great that we happen to be right in his backyard. I've met with Steve and Joey on several occasions and am very excited about what they're doing. Every aspect of their idea is Eco-friendly, and we are proud to be a part of it. I'm impressed by the ideas they have come up with in regards to what can be done with the recycled material and cant wait to see some of the final results. I'm confident that as more people get on board with the recyling efforts and with everyone putting their heads together we can discover more end uses for the pulverized waste. It's truly amazing what can happen when people combine their knowledge and talents to make a difference.

Sincerely, Erin Hefty

Escondido Asphalt Sand and Dust
We at Escondido Asphalt are pleased to anounce our participation with resurf.org, in the research and development of introducing rigid polyurathane foam dust(pulverized surfboards) to asphalt and cementitious mixes. So far, our sample mixes have been successful. We have found that mixing the pulverized material to molton asphalt before mixing it to the heated aggregate, not only renders the toxic material inert, but we have found the impregnated matrial is not thermally conductive, and volumizes the mix, making the mix more cost effective. The concept of " paving roads with surfboards " is exciting and realistic . As for lightweight concrete mixes,it's alraedy a prooven concept in highrise flooring substraights , lightweight roofing tiles and various other construction applications.

...Lost Enterprises
Matt Biolos began sanding surfboards at Surfglas and Herbie Fletcher Surf Shop fresh out of high school in 1987. He made his first surfboard at this time and called it a 'Ratz Ass' like in ìI donít give a ... His second surfboard was labeled ìmayhemî- obviously not taking things very seriously. (Mayhem Ordinance was Matt's high school music band). This name "Mayhem", for better or for worse, stuck. Matt shaped 20 boards the first year. Not too many people were ordering boards from Matt yet, so to make money he continued to sand surfboards and began to paint designs on them along with a handwritten LOST wherever he could. Surfers like Christian Fletcher and Matt Archbold were getting Biolosí paint jobs. By working in an environment with master shapers (Timmy Patterson, Jim Fuller, Terry Senate, Randy Sleigh to name a few) and good surfers, he was able to develop as a shaper.
